Have you ever wondered while talking to someone, are the even listening to me? Well your not alone. And maybe they are, or at least trying to. Their just having trouble understanding what your saying. Words like 'their' could be heard as 'air' for example or maybe 'cat' could be heard as 'hat'. The truth is missing part of the word can make big differences in the meaning of sentences so its important to to know the signs. Some common signs are
1) Asking others to repeat themselves or saying 'what' or 'pardon' often.
This could be simple thing as mistaking words when having conversations with others or answering someone's question incorrectly. Not that the answers wrong but different such as 'when did you feed the cat' and answerer answers puzzled 'feed the hat?' confused.
2) Television volume is getting louder.
While that individual doesn't seem to notice, everyone else does. Often times leading to the volume being uncomfortable for the rest of the people in the room. Applies to phone and cellphones are well with mainly using the speaker function as the main speaker for phone calls to have conversations.
3) Not enjoying going out as much as they used too.
Living in the noisy world as we do in the Greater Toronto Area. There can be a lot of noises around us making it more difficult to hear people around us like in restaurants, malls, and family gatherings. With more people can make more difficult to hear others. Therefore making going out of the house or group setting more frustrating than enjoyable.
The simplest solution is getting a hearing test from a hearing professional to help find a solution. And here at ProSound Hearing Services we strive to make it simple and comfortable. Just call us to book an appointment and one of our friendly staff with guide you through the process.
